Matrix Systems, Inc. manufactures and develops access control systems to prestigious organizations in various sectors including aviation, healthcare, industrial, and government.
With headquarters in Dayton, Ohio, Matrix is a privately held company. Matrix markets its products directly to end users through its regional sales managers and also on an OEM basis through selected, major security products and services corporations. These arrangements provide additional global marketing channels.
When founded in 1979 by D. James Young, the company's original mission was to provide energy management systems, primarily to healthcare institutions and property management firms. Mr. Young led the evolution of the company from a regional, energy management systems company, to a nationally recognized, industry leader in the full range of "Resource Management Systems." The energy management product line expanded initially to provide interfaces with fire and alarm systems. In 1981, the company began to manufacture and install badge readers with early versions of the Matrix Time & Attendance Data Collection and Controlled Access Systems.
Matrix has built its reputation and growth on providing customers with the highest possible level of service and support of on-line systems that provide maximum flexibility, expandability, and reliability. In addition, when calling Matrix for help or service, customers can deal directly with the people who designed, built and programmed the readers; specified and wrote the software; and engineered and installed the system. This background positions Matrix in the marketplace, not as a software house that must utilize outside expertise to be effective, but as a vendor with extensive experience in on-line, real-time, high-speed communications running twenty-four hours a day, seven days a week.
