Frontier™ Workstation and Microsoft Windows Vista compatibility update.
A new Frontier Workstation 5.7.3 release update will be available in June, 2007 which will ensure your Frontier Workstation is compatible with the new Windows Vista operating system. In addition, the new Frontier Workstation 5.7.4 release, also scheduled for June, will be Windows Vista compatible. Only the updated Frontier Version 5.7.3 Workstation software and higher will support Windows Vista.

Matrix releases Frontier Version 5.7.3
supporting many new features including:

  • New Report Viewer featuring custom front end to Crystal Reports XI providing dynamic drop-down lists and multiple selections for parameters including door names, alarm names, department names, etc.
  • “Timed” door commands allow you to temporarily change the status of doors and have them automatically return to their original state after the specified time period.
  • Badge Advanced Find capability supports searching for badges based on any of the badge fields along with new criteria. The capability to directly enter a SQL Select statement is also available.
  • Arm/Disarm groupings allow you to specify the zones that can be armed or disarmed by a badge holder from a reader.
  • An Activation Date has been added at the Badge Access Group level
  • Spell check is now available on the Badge Notes field along with the option to date/time stamp entries in this field
  • Purging badges can now be done from the Badge Find Screen.
  • An option to export the badge photos from the Badge Find Screen to individual jpeg files is now available.
  • An Alarm Desktop Alert is now available to automatically open the operations screen when an alarm is received or to pop-up an alert window.
  • Status Screens can now be printed


Frontier™ Workstation and Microsoft Windows Vista compatibility update. With the release of Frontier 5.7.4, your Frontier Workstation is now compatible with the new Windows Vista operating system. However, several firms have third party packages commonly used with Frontier that are not yet compatible with Windows Vista implementations. As a result, Windows Vista should not be used for Frontier imaging workstations or those requiring fingerprint logon.

the MX-iCLASS reader has been tested by Underwriters Laboratories
and is Listed for use in Controlled Access systems (UL294) and Proprietary Burglary systems (UL1076). The MX-iCLASS reader also passed all the required FCC emissions tests and is certified for use in the USA and Canada.

April 2006 -
HID Testing of MX-iCLASS Reader has been Completed
- HID provides development partners with programs and resources to successfully develop products and/or software applications that incorporate the power and enhanced security of iCLASS 13.56 MHz read/write contactless smart card technology and/or HID Prox 125 kHz proximity technology.
