Frontier™ Universe Consolidated Systems

The Frontier™ Universe access control systems software meets the growing requirements for “Open Architecture” systems database management and “Open Protocol” electronic hardware. Frontier™ Universe is compatible with multiple sub-system options, including HID VertX™ and Mercury. Each Frontier™Universe system uses a single server, multiple servers and/or redundant servers. This allows your system integrator to provide any level of system management and any level of physical security management, response and verification that your business needs to secure and grow.

Convenient, Scalable, Secure

Frontier™ Universe is a scalable .NET application that was developed for Microsoft® Windows®. The software uses ODBC to connect to different databases throughout the system. Information from these databases is downloaded to field controllers, so each controller can make decisions for all the devices connected to its sub-channels. The distributed intelligent network architecture allows all of the access control and security decisions to execute and record, even if communication with the host computer is lost.

A Modular Design for Maximum Customization

Frontier™ Universe features a modular design, enabling Matrix to customize a system to meet your needs. The following features are available:

Card Access Control
This suite of modules controls where and when a cardholder has access to a card or proximity reader or group of readers. It can simultaneously manage traditional hardware platforms and newer web-based IP controllers and readers from its seamless environment.

Alarm Graphics
Alarm graphics dynamically display real-time system alarms. Operators can graphically zoom in and out of buildings and view real-time status of devices based on their floor plan positioning. Devices are plotted during the setup phase of the system, and will flash on the respective map when in an alarm state. The alarm graphics module of the access control software works in conjunction with the alarm manager, which displays real-time alarms in a priority-sorted list.

Attendance Reporting
The attendance reporting module provides accurate reports of employee hours for a specified date/time and area(s). These reports can be used in conjunction with payroll software and can auto-export to popular text file formats.

Biometric Access Control
Biometric readers such as 3D face readers, retinal eye scanners, fingerprint readers, etc., offer stronger user authentication with convenience. Unlike keys, cards or number sequences, access through a biometric reader cannot be transferred, and requires that the person be physically present at the point-of-identification.

Fire Alarm Annunciation
Frontier™ Universe comes with drivers that communicate and interface to a variety of UL listed fire panels. Fire events are integrated into the application’s event/alarm manager modules, and can be used in conjunction with Triggers & Macros for integration.

Graphic Maps
Graphic maps visually represent the facility or multiple facilities. This module allows the operator to zoom in and out of buildings, view real-time status of devices and control devices based on their floor plan positioning.

Guard Tour
The guard tour module allows you to manage tours and receive immediate notification when checkpoints are missed. You can also review reports and automate their distribution via email based on pre-defined conditions.

ID Badging
This module comes with a badge designer to create badge templates, which can be used in the personnel manager module and link to the personnel database.

Report Manager
The report manager generates reports on the various databases of the system. Reports can be based on all regions or a selected region.

Triggers & Macros
The Triggers & Macros module allows the operator to program procedures to occur based on specific events. A trigger is defined as an event that occurs in the system with specific properties. These triggers are linked to execute macros. A macro is a single command or a set of commands to be executed in a defined sequence.

Video Manager
The video manager module is used to view real-time and recorded security videos, allowing for customized views and multi monitor support. It can also be used to program camera captions and set pre and post alarm conditions.

Visitor Management
Frontier™ Universe has the most comprehensive visitor management system available, allowing you to streamline registration, print professional visitor badges and view reports of all activities. With instant badge printing, self-registration option and automatic host notifications, the visitor management module is the top choice at organizations worldwide.
